Goatscape

It all started with Chippy. The first thing I noted was her long ears when she came in as a months old goat to our home. My parents said they had too much of free time at hand to handle. So Chippy was like a daughter (never seen them pamper me like that. huh! ) to my parents. After several months she gave birth to 2 baby goats.

They were soo sweet.I named them Chikku & Chinnu. But Bruno (my pet dog) somehow din't like me being too close to them (though he was as friendly to them as if he was a goat too),so I kept my distance. After some time Chippy gave birth to 3 more . But by then I had lost interest. Due to the overcrowding, we gave off Chippy & 2 of her latest born. So we were left with just three. Chikku, Chinnu & one of the latest born(for the sake of a name, I called him Chinnas).

Now,as luck would have it, the goats at my home have made up there mind on over populating. So Chinnu & Chikku gave birth on 24th of December. Chinnu had 3 and Chikku had 2.

Now there are 8 of them, 5 of which bleat almost throughout the night.

I don't name them anymore. They give birth to these kids, let them search for names. :-P

Cute!!!.You should put up a family tree.I have couple of cats at home and if i were to create a flashback montage of their lineage with some 80s music, i would need an entire dvd.You should let chinnu and chikku watch doordarshan for those lame public service announcements regarding family planning.
    Worth a shot :P

hehehe. i love how u say they can decide the names of their kids, lol. cute. i like fondling goat ears. and my husband likes them but gets scared when they bleat. hehehe. i find that highly cute and that is also another reason why i love him :)

@ Farila : Thanks. the goats just love to be loved. So if they could read, they would have galloped an extra step. :)

@Karthik : Thanks. Lucky my parents.I do not appreciate bleating baby goats much -no matter how cute they look.

@Reflections : Oh sweet! me too love to carry the little ones in my hands. But Bruno doesn't like it, so I don't do it much.About milk, i don't drink tea/coffee/milk. and everyone else at home prefers cow's milk;except for my nephew who isn't here.Whenever he comes down he gets goat milk treats. So at the moment, the milk goes to all the kiddo kids. Why steal milk that they deserve?

@Asif : Welcome to Banter Battery! There is full permission for outsiders to play with the goats. Permission is only needed to reach them. Bruno happens t be an over protective dog, who is the least cute to outsiders. Yet, with prior information, a visit to the goats can be arranged!

@Sorcerer : Kewl idea.. but again, their kids let them decide.I shall break my heads for the names of my kids (plus I'd make sure there aren't so many that its hard to name)

@nishanth :family tree; must do.they anyways eat up most of the branches of trees they can reach. Lets c if they'd eat their own family tree, Anyways am losing count, if they want to document something for their kids, they can do it for themselves (they ain't paying me).At the mention of cat fleet I remember I had my own too before Browny jumped in my life. Gosh!!!! seems like its a pattern. all my pets seem to be over breeding !!! panic panic.

@Blunty : Gee, guess I know exactly what your parents feel. I used to get onto a verbal fight with most of my family n friends for calling my Browny or Bruno a dawg!!! Believe me, they are worth all the pamper.
Happy New Year to you too..

@Sweet Addiction : Gosh!! Noo... but wait, rabbits would be soo cute.and plus they don't bleat through the night & leave you peaceless/sleepless.But yet 19 seems like a gigantic number of pets. You still have them??

@The Wandering Minstrel : Oh really, even fi they had made some effort to make the kids look different in some way;say for example a colour change - brown/black/spotted/striped/polka dots or something. But no they choose to send out identical kids and expect em to know one from the other. Oh I have better crap to break my head over. Oh the bleating (f the young ones) kept me up for the first 3 nights. Tats choo chweet.hehehe.. actually it can be scary if the goat has long sharp horns (Chikku has -check pic no.4 from top)

Good post and really cute pics of little goaties...its fun to watch them at this age with the long clumsy leg walk at one second and then the next second running around effortlessly trying to head butt you...
