Tagttricked !!!

OK! am back to posting. The doc says no more need for injections ( **hurrraaaayy**) but since I let the cold and cough come into me and stay for soo long, it will take time to drive them off (something like encroachment thingy)..the pills and cough syrup manage to leave me half drowsy all the time and yet at night, I have trouble sleeping;once I sleep, I have trouble getting up...  So whatever be the technical realities, your GET WELL SOON wishes have paid off, am actually feeling better. In the meantime, Supriya tagged me with the "10 Thingy Tag" which happens to be her third tag, and my third tag in a row too..

10 things that make me smile

  1. Jokes [yeah am that predictable :) ]
  2. Kids and Pets [same degree, so same number]
  3. Meeting or talking to Manu.
  4. Books ;especially if someone else gifts them to me (in short - getting what I love without spending for it)
  5. Bruno (he makes me feel glad to have come back home ;every single day without fail)
  6. humor in blogs of my blog pals, to mention a fewSorcererAliceBlunt Edges..... (I mean there are loads;and in some way or the other most of the blogs that I follow make me feel like smiling or happy that am following them )
  7. Seeing my parents lovingly play pranks at each other(especially Dad), fight over it, laugh over it - subtly without ever saying they love each other, making the feeling evident.
  8. Remembering my childhood and past days and incidents
  9. Being at grandma's place with all those fields, trees to climb, cousins to play & loiter around with, guarding the fields with tin cans(yeah, granma thinks we are more effective than scarecrows)
  10. my guy's calls (mentioned last but not at all the least-infact the daily dose comes from this point)

10 things that I just don't have the guts to do

  1. Shake hands with height; it terrifies me. I remember being the only person on the crazy swing(they call it Space Gun) in Veega Land (an Amusement Theme Water Park in Kerala) who did not scream my guts out when the swing hung upside down, holding each with a belt around  waist which threatened to break any moment and the rest of the body dangling 18.5 meters above ground. Oh, not because I wasn't scared, I think I was momentarily dead. (Psst:  I got onto the ride because I felt ashamed of saying that am scared of height)
  2. Catch a cockroach (I remember paying guys in school for each cockroach they caught and brought for me to be used in Zoology practical classes)
  3. Kill anything - be it insects, cockroach, spiders, snake, whatever -even mosquitoes (It irks my parents to see me shoo away any mosquito sitting and drinking up my blood.)
  4. Engage in verbal fight with my parents. I react in other ways - moving out of the room, acting as if am deaf, not coming out of my room at all, keeping myself locked up in my room (I do so, 'cos I always felt that it angers my parents more if we speak back or talk to them trying to make them understand that they are wrong; but somehow my silence too irks my parents ... Gosh!!! they can be difficult, at times)
  5. Go for a movie to a theater alone.
  6. Drive a four wheeler on the NH.
  7. Adopt a child (though am in love with the gesture, want to do it with all my heart, but I won't have my parents support and haven't got the guts to speak to my guy about it yet)
  8. Take a lift from a stranger - no matter how urgent the situation be.
  9. Sweet talk. Its a facade I cannot carry; I have to feel good about you to be good to you, I cannot do anything for doing sake, no matter how much I try. I end up feeling miserable and eventually they'd know if I don't like them (If I like them, they'll keep guessing - Its hard for me to emote my love in words)
  10. Break my dreams or cross over anyone else's dreams for anything in the world.

Now, that I have realised that not all my blogger friends cherish having a tag, I keep it open. If I am a follower of your blog, I award you this tag. If you haven't already have it and do not have a problem doing it, you are heartily welcome to take it up.

*Cheers & Peace

Scared of heights..? C'mon..try it..try it to give it up forever..coz it wont be there..someone said..fear is the perfect spur to courage...and that courage is just a choice away..do it once and see how comfy you would become on the next go...
And going to a movie alone...thats is horrible. I know a friend of mine who went once, alone and till date, i am not able to understand his mental plane/inclination on that day...i prefer beating myself to death if given an option....
BTW, good to see to back.. :)

Ohhh Jokes make you smile? (:~0…Yes yes you are veryyy predictable now. LOL !!!
Jokes apart, congratulations!!! You’ve achieved the rare trick in the blogger world. But, I can’t award you a TOPI as much as I want to. :)
Enjoyed reading about the 10 things which you don’t have guts to do. But I’d have loved to know how many among those 10 you would actually like to do ;)( except the 7th of course.)
And I think you don’t need guts to speak about anything to a person whom you actually love and who loves you back. Right? Try it and do let us know what you decide on it. One thing I’m sure of is that you will get annoyed with the adoption laws of India.

Totally out of context, why is this particular post not given any of those so called 4 category names?

    A tag well done. :)

  12. Meenakshi says:
    February 3, 2010 12:36 AM

    @Oldmonk : gee..thanks :)

@Alice : Thanks & welcome.. hehehe..jjust like I must stop using .... all the time. But nevertheless, i think they are cute, so why change?? your ! all the time too speaks of ur style of emoting...so why stop??

@Supriya : thanks for tagging me dear..:)

@Garf: am too adventurous to not have tried yet.. have gone trekking, rock climbing, crossed waterfall moving hanging on to a rope tied across it.. each venture made me more scared.. will descending mountains and rocks, i look at the closest point rather than the ground level.registered for bungee jumping and paratrooping but pulled back 'cos i knew I'd freak out..now with marriage and all on the corner, I am settling a bit down (atleast trying to). about going alone to movies, am a person who loves my solitude as much as being with friends..love going shopping alone with myself, love to go to the museum, zoo and stuff alone; but yes, to the theater I just can't make myself go alone.

@Blunty : *jump *jump * turn * jump... atleast someone smiled and that tooo blunty... *tired, so settles back in bed.

@Farila: power cuts can be mighty irritating.. I loved them when I was in school, now I don't..

@Sorcerer : yeah..can say that.. they remind me of how I felt about guys when I was in 4th -5th standard.. the same fear mingled with contempt and every time i see one, i can't help scrunch my nose. :P

@the wandering minstrel : that reminds me, we need to talk soon.. so alike, yet never spoke.. who knows we'd discover a whole load of more similarities..it would be greaat to have a friend just like me (lol.. speak about blowing my own trumpet)

@Butterfly : you bet!!! and best part, I loved doing all of them...

@Asif : TOPI means?? sorry me not a techie..so these technically shortened computer syncronyms are lost on me..would like to do 1,2,5,6,7(obvious) and maybe 9(lots of people who are dear to me, don't really realize the intensity, just 'cos I can't make myself call them each single day, and be verbal about all I feel for them - or can save situations where I cannot hide my dislike for someone's behaviour or attitude)

Yeah.. gone through the adoption laws..they are pretty complicated , expensive and time consuming, but guess a bit of a trouble is worth it.. I know, i can discuss anything with my guy, but for now, am taking it easy.. have the whole lifetime to discuss it.when he'd know the intensity of my wish even without my words..hope so..and if this is just a wish and am not matured or grown up enough for it, in some time I'll realize that too..

so called 4 category names?? wat does that mean? m clueless..

@Shanu : aap aaye bahar aayi.. and a comment too.. Mokambo khush hua..thanks yaar. :)

  13. Asif says:
    February 3, 2010 2:44 PM

Yeah you are right, even if you realize such things in course of time, even if you become much matured(which you are actually now)-you will always be a kid for your mom/dad/sister who care for you. Now you understood why you are still a kid?
And about TOPI, Aray babaaa it means hat/cap. After all isn’t it a HAT-trick? Didn’t you deserve a HAT for your effort? And you made it go flat by comparing it to some computer ‘syn’acronym. :)
I guessed that you would like 1,2,6,7 but never even thought that you are a person who likes to do 5th…hehehe. But for the 7th one, I’m actually very proud to have known you. Three cheers to such a wonderful and kind gesture. I wish he understands your inner feelings soon and I wish he supports you in all such matters of heart.
I’ve gone through the adoption laws myself long back and trust me they are very irrelevant and sometimes I find them kind of vague.
I hope you are doing well now and hope you said goodbye to those colourful gems.
The four categories are spectacles, fiction, ponderings, and sentiments.

  14. Meenakshi says:
    February 3, 2010 10:57 PM

@asif : there goes the problem.. they think m too matured..my sis is more of the kiddy kid naughty one at home than me. am more of the silent one and the moody one.. maybe result of being overprotective of my elder pretty sis since i was a toddler..had to act mature to get her to obey me..though they know, m much of a chirpy kid outside and in my rare good mood times at home too. :) and both are not repressing any behaviour..its both part of the "me".strange but true. maybe the term you gave me is uncannily true -kidult.

I hope so too..he is very supportive and understanding in everything. But I'd want him to really want it too rather than just giving in to my wish. 'cos even if adopted, a child is the responsibility of both the parents.and no child can be happy if even one parent does not really feel he/she is their own from deep within.so lets hope for the best..

am doing well, except for the sleeplessness part and the stubborn cold is still there.. hope another dose of injections won't be necessary.

oops! I had forgotten to put the category.thanks for noticing and lettign me know.. done, now!

  15. Asif says:
    February 3, 2010 11:47 PM

Yes you are 100% right in saying that a child is the responsibility of both the parents.
Stub-born??? What else it can be?After all you let it stay soo close to you for such a long time. I think the bond is too strong to break ;)
    Take Care.

@Choco : Yea, not yet compeletely well, but mending. So great to see you back.. missed you; and in the time that you weren't here..loads happened. I even got 'encaged' ;)

    @Alice : Wow!!! Thanks a ton, dear.

@Netha : Welcome to Banter Battery! Thanks :). Hope you'd enjoy the bantering journey here..

@subu : thanks.. hehehe..yes that was exactly what happened to 70 % of my other friends who were onboard too.. the rest 29 % sat in a corner and refused to go on any other rides. so that left just me. they thought I was plainly the boldest and fearless of all.. They silence is golden. I agree. My silence of my extreme fear, made them think am super brave. I din't correct them too.. *wicked grin.

@Blaize : Welcome to Banter Battery!! Thanks a lot.. Hope I'd see you around and active in this Banter Queendom :)
